My Approach

My approach to therapy is a collaborative one. I believe in leading each session with creativity, calm, compassion, curiosity, and courage! You are the expert in your own life and thus your expertise is needed in this journey. My job will be to serve as a guide as we look at what is the best way we can accomplish your goals. Whether that goal is to understand your past, learn how to deal with the challenges of the present, or be able to not fear the future and it's changes. I value being trained in a variety of different techniques because not everything works the same way as everyone. Some people may benefit more from creative expression while others find that simply being heard is enough.   

While holding a safe nonjudgemental space is extremely important, I also believe that effective therapy require more than just one person doing all the talking and the other person just smiling and nodding. It requires commitment on both parts to journey together and experience all of your light and dark parts.   Therapy can be incredibly hard, and confusing and sometimes things can get worse before they get better. But I believe that if you learn to understand and accept every part of yourself, you can lead a life where you are empowered, self aware, and can experience joy.
